Included in your 4-day stay:
Day to Day:
Day 1: Hanoi
Once you’ve cleared customs at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, you’ll be greeted by a Uniworld representative who will help you with your luggage and take you to your luxury hotel. After check-in, you may choose to rest at the hotel or go out and explore the city. Your local host will be happy to offer suggestions, but be sure to visit the nearby Kim Lien Pagoda. The 800-year-old temple, whose name means “golden lotus,” is considered the most beautiful in Hanoi.
Day 2: Ha Long Bay, Viet Hai (BB, L, D)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Viet Hai Village Visit
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Hanoi, you’ll board a motorcoach that will carry you on a scenic drive to the bay, where you’ll be transferred by speed boat to board the luxurious Paradise Grand (or similar) and begin your breathtaking cruise (note that amenities may differ from those of a Uniworld company-owned ship). Precipitous limestone pillars and isles—hundreds of them—rise out of the emerald water of the bay. Settle into your stateroom, then enjoy lunch with a matchless view as you sail among these astonishing formations, the result of eons of tides and rain. Your first stop is Viet Hai village, where you can explore the majestic landscape by going cycling or hopping in an electric car. We’ll pass by a fish farm and bee houses, and even get to experience a fishpond foot massage. Enjoy a delicious BBQ buffet dinner prepared by the boat’s chef. Afterward, relax on deck and enjoy more scenic sailing.
Day 3: Ha Long Bay, Ba Trai Dao Islet (BB, L, D)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Swim at Ba Trai Dao
Welcome your second day onboard Paradise Grand (or similar) with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck as the sun rises. You may wish to embark on a brief excursion (about 1 hour) to Ba Trai Dao, or “The Three Peaches.” This small and picturesque islet gets its name from the three stone “peaches” perched on a curving sand beach. It also makes for a wonderful spot to swim, so make sure to bring your swimsuit! After, return to the ship for lunch.
FEATURED EXCURSION: Kayaking the Tay Keo Cave Area
Board a kayak to paddle your way around the caves and limestone islands of the Cat Ba archipelago, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. If you’re fortunate, you might even spot the Cat Ba langur, a species exclusive to and strictly protected on the Cat Ba archipelago.
Day 4: Ha Long Bay, Hanoi (BB)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Dark and Bright Cave
Early this morning, participate in Tai Chi on the sundeck and enjoy breakfast prior to your excursion.
The karst islands of the bay are dotted with caves. Join an early-morning excursion to one of the most spectacular, the Dark and Bright Lagoon.
You will be transported there by locals rowing bamboo boats, or you can kayak at your own pace. This is a poetic and stunning location that acts as an access way to a beautifully tranquil lake, surrounded by walls of stones in different scales and sizes.
After our visit, you will be transferred on a speedboat to return to Tuan Chau Marina for check out. You’ll disembark and return to Hanoi, where you’ll check back into your previous hotel.
Pricing:
$1,249 per person (for 2 guests)
For solo travelers, there is a single supplement of $799.
